I just read something that struck a chord with me this week. Shauna Niequist wrote in her new book, I Guess I Haven't Learned That Yet, that it is our own responsibility to find inspiration if we're just not feeling it. As creative types, we always put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be "on" for work. It burns us out and discourages us from the process. Her idea was that we need to go out into the world and find things that are inspiring- go to a museum, read a book, take a photograph, go on a hike. This is where we will find our inspiration- not sitting at home scrolling through instagram for the 20th time that day wondering why everyone else has fun things to post. So....I find myself here...
The Farm At Magnolia Acres. As much as I love the water, this land is bliss. As I type this, I'm staring out this window watching the wings of a hummingbird flap impossibly fast.
THIS is a place to find inspiration. The sun comes in through the bedroom window before you know what's hit you, and you know it's time to get going. The dogs and I set out on a hike through the woods to the catfish pond. I found some inspiration and I'm pretty sure that Charlie, our bloodhound mix, found something too, as he was hyper focused on a scent trail. Speaking of Charlie, he is a huge part of the inspiration for these shirts for the dog moms and dads in your life. Custom art on a tee with someone's dog will be their new favorite shirt. I promise. I'll talk about that process in another post because they are SUPER fun to make.
So, if you need me over the next several days, I will be "out of office" spending another day in paradise....which just so happens to be another great shirt you can get in the shop.
Hope your day is full of inspiration wherever you may find it. Be sure to spread the good vibes and the good vibes will come back. Be sure to check out the site and Say Hey to stay up to date on what's new and fun discounts.
